Key points at a glance
"Ek baar app pe kisi se puchh lo." Every family in India has heard this line, usually a week before a rishta meeting. So you download two apps. One says the boy is Manglik. The other says the dosh (flaw) is cancelled. Now nobody at home is sure what to believe.
We run the astrology team at HealAstro, and "which app should I trust?" is one of the questions we hear most. This guide compares nine popular apps, tells you what each one is good at, and gives you a simple checklist to judge any app yourself. If you only want your chart right now, make it first with our free kundli generator linked above and come back to the comparison later.

The best astrology app in India is one that calculates your kundli (birth chart) correctly using the sidereal zodiac, lets you speak to a trained Vedic astrologer when you need more than automated text, shows its consultation rates clearly, and never promises guaranteed results. Popular names include AstroTalk, AstroSage, Astroyogi and HealAstro.
We judged each app on five things that matter to a real user, not on download counts.
Many "top 10" lists rank apps by installs. We disagree with that method. Downloads tell you about a marketing budget. They tell you nothing about whether the person reading your chart can tell a Mahadasha from an Antardasha, or knows why Saturn in the 7th house reads differently for a Libra ascendant than for an Aries one.
Here is what we looked at:
One honest limitation before we start. We have not paid for consultations on every app in this list, and features change with each update. Treat the reviews below as a starting point, and check the latest Play Store listing before you pay.
This table shows what each app is mainly known for, based on its public listing and recent coverage at the time of writing.

There is no single best astrology app in India for everyone. Each app below suits a different kind of user, so read the "best for" line first.
Full disclosure: this is our own app, so we have kept its write-up to facts. The HealAstro app on Google Play gives you a free kundli and lets you chat or call our Vedic astrologers. The same account connects to our pujas, reports and products, so a remedy discussion does not end with "search for it somewhere online". Judge it with the same checklist you use for the others.
Best for: people who want a consultation and a follow-up puja or report from one team.
AstroTalk is one of the most widely used consultation apps in India. It offers chat, call and video sessions, plus a free janam kundli and daily horoscope. It often runs introductory recharge offers. The choice of astrologers is large, which is good, but it also means quality varies. Check reviews and experience before you pick someone.
Best for: quick live questions at odd hours.
AstroSage is a calculation-first app. Its kundli shows dasha periods, Ashtakavarga and divisional charts up to the D60, along with Ashtakoot matching and Panchang. It now also has an AI astrology chat. The free version carries ads. If you like reading your own chart, this is a strong tool.
Best for: students of astrology and people who want raw chart data.
Astroyogi offers chat, call and video consultations and covers several systems: Vedic astrology, tarot, numerology and Vastu. It supports many Indian languages, which helps families where elders prefer Tamil, Bengali or Marathi over English.
Best for: multilingual households.
InstaAstro has free birth chart, kundli matching and Panchang tools, plus chat and call consultations. It also runs a spiritual products store.
Best for: first-time users who want to try free tools before paying.
GaneshaSpeaks is an older brand known for written reports and personalised predictions on career and business. Consultations are available by phone and chat, in English, Hindi and Gujarati.
Best for: people who prefer a report they can read again later.
ClickAstro does not focus on live chat. Its strength is automated janam kundli and yearly prediction reports in a long list of regional Indian languages.
Best for: a printed or PDF horoscope for the family file.
MyAstro works on a wallet model: you add money and pay per minute of chat or call. It also offers a free kundli, matching and dosha checks.
Best for: users who want to control spend minute by minute.
AstroVed is rooted in South Indian practice. It offers Nadi astrology, Rasi Palan, Muhurat and puja bookings, with support in English, Hindi and Tamil.
Best for: families who follow Tamil traditions.
Choosing an astrology app comes down to checking accuracy first and price second.

AI astrology chat is now a standard feature on several apps, and it works well for basic chart facts but poorly for judgement calls.
Ask an AI tool "What is my Moon nakshatra?" and it will answer correctly if the chart is correct. Ask it whether Shani's Sade Sati will hurt your business and it tends to give general lines. Sade Sati effects depend on Saturn's house from your Lagna, its strength, and the running dasha, as we explain in our article on Shani Sade Sati phases and remedies. Classical texts such as Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and Phaladeepika ask the astrologer to weigh many factors together. That weighing is still a human skill.
Our view: use AI for learning terms. Use a person for decisions.

Most confusion around astrology apps comes from a few repeated myths.
| Myth | Fact |
|---|---|
| All apps give the same kundli. | Charts differ if the ayanamsa, time zone or birth time differs. |
| More downloads means better predictions. | Downloads measure popularity, not astrologer skill. |
| A free kundli is enough for marriage decisions. | A free report lists yogas and doshas; it rarely weighs cancellations or dasha timing. |
| The astrologer who sounds most certain is the best. | Good astrologers explain conditions and probabilities, not certainties. |
| A gemstone fixes every weak planet. | Gemstones strengthen a planet, which can harm if that planet rules difficult houses in your chart. |
Treat any remedy suggested on an app as a traditional practice and an act of faith, not a guaranteed fix.
Simple remedies first. Mantra jaap, a Hanuman Chalisa on Tuesdays for a troubled Mars, or donating food on Saturdays for Saturn cost little and carry no risk. Our remedies for Manglik dosha follow this same order.
Costlier remedies need a reason. Before you buy a stone, ask the astrologer which house the planet rules in your chart and why strengthening it helps. A blue sapphire for Saturn can suit one Taurus ascendant and be a poor idea for a Leo ascendant. We suggest browsing natural gemstones only after a chart check, and the same applies to rudraksha; see which rudraksha to wear, from 1 to 14 mukhi.
And never stop medicine, change a legal plan or make a large investment because of a chat.
This is an illustrative example, not a real client.
Riya, 28, from Pune, had a rishta meeting fixed. App one said she was Manglik because Mars sat in her 7th house. App two said "no dosh".
Both were partly right. Mars in the 7th from the Lagna does form Manglik dosha in most traditions. But in this example Mars sits in Scorpio, its own sign, and several classical rules treat that as a cancellation. App two had applied the cancellation silently. App one had not mentioned it at all.
An astrologer would check the boy's chart too, since Mars placement on both sides changes the reading. That is why we always suggest running kundli matching online for both charts, then reading our explainer on what kundali matching checks before the family discussion.
Distance does not change a chart, so an online consultation is as useful as sitting with an astrologer in person.
We speak with families in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Jaipur, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Indore every week. Some prefer Hindi, some English, and many mix both. The chart is calculated from your birth data, not from where you sit, so a call from a Bengaluru flat gives the same result as a visit to a temple-side astrologer in Varanasi. What matters is the astrologer's skill and the accuracy of your birth time. The best astrology app in India for a family in Kolkata is the same one that works for a family in Jaipur.

AstroSage, InstaAstro, MyAstro and HealAstro all offer a free kundli. AstroSage shows the most chart detail, including divisional charts. For a quick, readable kundli plus the option to speak to an astrologer, HealAstro or InstaAstro are easier for first-time users. Always confirm the birth time you enter is accurate.
Some apps offer a free or discounted first session. Terms vary: the free time may be a few minutes, apply only to selected astrologers, or need a wallet recharge first. Read the offer conditions on the app before you start, and note the per-minute rate that applies once the free period ends.
They are only as accurate as your birth data and the astrologer's skill. Automated predictions based only on your Moon sign are broad by design. A reading that uses your Lagna, house lords and running dasha is far more specific. No app or astrologer can guarantee an outcome.
Any app that shows Ashtakoot gun milan and checks Manglik dosha for both partners is a reasonable start. A score out of 36 is not the full picture, though. Ask an astrologer to review the 7th house, Venus and the running dasha of both charts before a family decision.
It is generally fine to share your date, time and place of birth, which is all a kundli needs. Do not share bank details or OTPs in chat, and use only the app's own payment screen. Read the app's privacy policy if you are unsure how your data is stored.
No, not for decisions. AI tools explain chart terms well and answer factual questions about your kundli. They struggle to weigh conflicting factors such as a strong yoga during a difficult dasha. Use AI to learn, and a trained Vedic astrologer when marriage, career or property choices are involved.
Yes. The HealAstro app is available on Google Play for Android phones. It gives you a free kundli and lets you chat or call our astrologers, with pujas, reports and spiritual products linked to the same account.
The best astrology app in India for you is the one that gets your chart right, shows its prices honestly, and puts you in touch with an astrologer who explains rather than frightens. Start with free tools. Compare two charts. Then ask a trained astrologer the one question that matters to you.
